BY GARET REID
Sentinel Staff
It was a rough
and tumble night
on Saturday as the
Lucknow -Lancers
took on their
rivals, .the Ripley
Wolves. In game
two of the A cham-
pionship series, the
Lancers won the
game 6-4.
In the first peri-
od the two teams
sized each other up
and it was back
and forth hockey.
Neither team gave
up an inch as they
traded goals to
make it a 1-1 score
going into the first
intermission.
The start of then
second period was
a different story : 1
the Wolves took.
over. The Wolves
were able to breal
through the
defense of the
Lancets in the first
part of the period.
Ripley was able to
get their lead .ep to
3-1 with two quick
goals.
The Lancers
woke up after
going down by two
and they took over
the last part of the
second period with
two goals of their
own. The game
went into the sec-
ond intermission
also tied, but with
a 3-3 score this
time.
The momentum
stayed • in
Lucknow's favour
as as they reeled
off two more goals
to take a 5-3 dead.
Ripley came back
with a goal of their
own, but it was too
little too late as the
Lancers potted an
empty net goal.

"We just have to
keep it real simple.
They have more
guys that score
goals than we do.
We have dump
and chase, let -them
make more mis-
takes. We also
can't make mis-
takes against this
team in the neutral
zone," said head
coach of the
Lancers, Carl
Stanley. "We have
to be defensive
minded in order to
win."
Game three will
take place in
Ripley on Friday
