Positive reaction for `home'
BY GARIT REIT)
Sentinel Staff
Lorene and Doug Casemore and her
hwband Doug held a meeting on Feb. 26
at Lucknow Town Hall to see what kind
of reaction and turnout they would get for
a proposed retirement home that may
come to Luclrnow.
`Tile proposed building will be called
the Nine Mile Villa Retirement Home
and will be located just behind the old
Puddleducks facing west on Inglis St.
The Casemores wanted to gau8e_ the
level of interest in the community and get
input on the setup of the home.
The attendees were able to see a basic
layout on the blueprints of what the build-
ing might look like and the various rooms
that will be available. There will . be a
common room, a kitchen, a library, a hair
salon, laundry rooms, a spa room where
bathing will take place, 20 private rooms
and more. This is all just a basic layout
and nothing has been confirmed yet.
The - spa caught a lot of interest as the
individual rooms will not be equipped
with a bath tub or shower. The spa room
will hold a specialized tub that makes
independent and assisted bathing safer
and easier.
All of the meals will be provided by the
staff and no cooking will be allowed in
the rooms due to fire safety concerns. All
laundry will also be done by staff on a
nightly basis.
