OntarbFAA F.11 Om 2000,Oakvile, Ontario 161514 • . .,, .,;•, v , it • • v • • • • t R • • r Huron -Bruce fundin Residents of Huron -Bruce will benefit from joint federal, provincial and municipal funding to build roads, bridges and water systems, M.P. and Carol Mitchell, . M.P.P made the announcement last week. This project is just one example of all levels of gov- ernment commit- ted to .stimulating the Ontario econo- my by reducing rid tape, creating jobs for Ontarians, and getting shovels in the ground sooner. These projects will improve trans- portation efficien- cy, enhance local facilities and serv- ices and create local jobs, when the need for eco- nomic stimulus is greatest. The govern- ments of Canada and Ontario will • each invest up to $17,680,300 in projects Through - ,out the riding. The municipalities will contribute the bal- once of the total eligible cost of, up to $53,310,907; "In these chal- lenging times, the governments: of Canada and Ontario are work ing together to cre- ate jobs' and 'mid stronger and brighter futures for Ontario Communities," said. Ben Lobb, MP for Huron -Bruce. "These invest- ments will help stimulate the econ- omy and create jobs in Huron - Bruce." "Strengthening the provinces infrastructure will allow the commu nities of Huron - Bruce . to remain economically viable while improving the quality of life for residents through improvements to roads, bridges and water and waster water s stems" said Carol Mitchell, MPP for Huron -Bruce. "All levels of govern- ment working together will help to put . Huron- Bruce on a more solid ; footing that will better allow us to face- the chal- lebges that lie ahead while . striv- ing for a bright and prosperous future," "This infrastruc- ture funding from the federal and provincial : govern- ments is very much welcome news : for both the upper and lower tiermunici- palities in Huron County," said Huron County Warden ` Ken Oke. "It is my hope that this .. funding will allow us to contin- ue to move Huron County in the right direction while updating and prior- itizing our infra- structure needs" "This is great news. The Infrastructure funding will go a long way to improve roads, bridges and waste- " water projects in Bruce County,". said Bruce County Warden Bill Goetz. "In the municipali- ty of South Bruce, we have submitted numerous . applica- tions for waste- water collection and treatment in the Teeswater TFormosa area and been unsuccessful. We are thrilled to fatally be able to move forward wi this project. This will make it `a.lot easier for the resi- dents of South - Bruce." These projects are part . of 289 across the province that will soon break . ground thanks to a federal - P_ rovincial-rnuiiici- ;pal investment of more than $1 Billion: The gov- ernments of Canada and Ontario have taken steps to get shovels in the ground and to . flow money faster for targeted infrastructure proj- ects in Ontario Communities for the 2009 and 2010 construction sea- sons. Because the fed- eral and provincial governments understand that infrastructure investments will stimulate the econ- omy, nearly 85 per cent of project applications were approved for fund- ing.
