The beautiful warm weather dur-
ing the past week or so, has brought

The second game of soft ball be-
tween Main St, and Janies St. girls,
was played on MMlonday evening last,
resulting in a score of 26-15 for
Main St.
Mr. and Mrs. Jas. T. McDonald, of
Detroit, formerly of Goderich, an-
nounce the engagement of their only
daughter, Agues, to Mr. Neil Sparks
of Detroit, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex.
Sparks, of Hensel", the marriage to
take place the. latter part of June.
Relatives and friends of the Red
monds in this vicinity, will no doubt
be interested - to read of the Red-
mond -De la Mater wedding in
Rochester, N. Y., recently. Mr. and
Mrs. Chas. A. Redmond, parents of
the groom, formerly resided near
Hensel]. and are known by a number
of people in this community. The
marriage of Miss Lucille De la Ma-
ter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. H.
De la Mater, of Rochester N. Y., to
Rev. J. Wilbert A. Redmond, pastor
of the Methodist Episcopal church
of Leonardsville, N. Y.; was solemn-
ized on Wednesday evening, June
4th, at 6.30 p.m. in Asbury Method-
ist church, Rochester. The cere-
mony was performed by Rev. Dr. R.
S. Cushman, pastor of the church.
The church was beautifully decorat-
edwith flowers and lighted candles,
and the bride carried a large bouquet
of lilies of the valley and orchids.
The bride was attended by Mrs. Nor
man Van De Carr, as matron of hon-
or and Miss Hazel Hellert, as maid
of honor, also by three little flower
girls and a ring bearer, while Mr.
Wesley Redmond, of Bellville, Ont.,
attended the groom. The bride was
charmingly attired in a gown of
white satin trimined with rare old
lace and wore a veil, an heirloom.
Mr. and Mrs. Redmond left on a
wedding trip, after which they will
reside in Leonardsville, N. Y.

in Old London, the sights of which
are away beyond description. Mr.
Harry Sweet, who accompanied him,
isremaining in Toronto for a few
days.

Dakota, ,spent a few days in town
last week, guests of Mr. and Mrs. C.
B. Snell. 14rr. Down was born in the
Township of Stephen and all his ear-
ly days were spentin this locality.

Mr. Ludwig B. Armerding, of the
Chicago Board of Trade, visited his
sister, Mrs. I-Ioward Taylor, this
week. He was accompanied from
London, where he was preaching, by
Mr. Taylor's father. He is a fine
sample of the live Christian, com-
bined with the up-to-date business
man.
Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Redmond, of
Chicago, motored across to Kings-
ville to- visit their cousins, Mr: and
Mrs. Guy Brown, when they found
that Mrs. Brown was in -Exeter car-
ing for her mother, M'r`s, J. E. Dig-
nan who has since passed away.
They came on to Exeter bringing Mr.
Brown and daughter, Marion. They
rettarned home again this week.
DEATH pp MITCHELL WOMAN
Mitchell,: June 16th. -After many
weeks of illness, Susie, youngest
daughter -of Mr. and Mrs. James Ma-
chan, died at her parents, home on
Saturday night at the age of 26yrs,
She is survived by her parents, one
brother and two sisters, who feel
their loss keenly. She was born in
Mitchell.
