Van Miltenburg and fellow co-ordina- tor Megan Finkbeiner, 20, of Crediton, also come up with weekly bi-themes that branch out from the "Agent 009" idea, such as "Cracking Codes," "Dis- guises," and "Villains and bad guys." So far, the kids are on board, Van Miltenburg says. "They're really excited," she says. "The purpose is to introduce reading for fun and to keep them reading over the summer. It also shows them .what the library has to offer. There's more than just books." Van Miltenburg notes that the pro- gram has the children making spy - themed crafts, such as binoculars and wanted posters. Stickers, posters and logbooks for all the children have been supplied by the Toronto Dominion Financial Group, and other materials for making crafts have been purchased through fund- raising by each branch. Van Miltenburg says with all the branches combined, about 300 chil- dren regularly show up for the pro- gram. It's offered free in Seaforth at 2:45 p.m. on Mondays for kids ages four to six and at 3:45 for seven to 12 -year- olds. For more information, call Van Miltenburg at 519-482-5457.
