assistant, Cheryl Nuhn.
SPS held wacky dress day
to honour the passing of
educational assistant

In a tribute to Cheryl Nuhn
who recently passed away May
21, Seaforth Public School
launched a special day where
the students dressed zany.
To help the students and staff
at SPS mourn the loss of their
respected educational assistant,
last Friday everyone was asked
to land on school property
sporting whacky outfits, said
SPS Grade 3/4 teacher, Tammy
Regier, who is responsible for
initiating the occasion known as
Loving Life Day.
"Anything wild and crazy that
makes people smile and think of
her and the fun she brought to
(Seaforth Public School)," stated
Regier May 24 while saying stu-
dents were specifically influ-
enced to wear mismatched
socks, colourful shirts and out-
fits that standout.
"She had brought the fun to
school and always had a good
positive outlook on life, this is just
a good way to remember hey"
Students brought $1 or $2
donations for the cause and in
doing so donated the funds to
the Seaforth Legion, which was
more than $200.
Nuhn was deeply involved
with the Seaforth Legion, Regier
said this is an ideal way to hon-
our her passion with the
organization.
"We have to carry on and
think about all the good times
that we had with her," said
Regier.
Temporary Speed Limit
Reductions for IPM
Kathleen Smith
Postmedia Network
A motion was passed last week
at County Council meeting to
temporarily reduce speed limits
on County Roads adjacent to the
Intemational Plowing Match.
Temporarily reducing the
speed limits on County Roads in
the vicinity to the IPM will
provide safety for the event and
staff organizers while they set up
the grounds for the event.
There will be no financial
costs to reduce the speed limits,
only labour to pull the signage
from stock, post the signage and
to put back into stock once IMP
has concluded.
A motion for a by-law that will
temporarily reduce the speed
limit between September 4 and
September 29, 2017 on County
Road 12 and County Road 25 in
the vicinity of the IPM was passed.
To allow for the safety of citi-
zens and those visiting for the
IPM, it is necessary that the by-
law be enforced, which will be
automatically rescinded once
the IPM has come to a
conclusion.
