Once again a
truck stolen
from keys being
left in vehicle
(HURON EAST, Ont.) — Huron
County Ontario Provincial Police
(OPP) officers are investigating
the recent theft of a 2002
Ford F-250 pickup truck
stolen from a farm property
located on Hydro Line.
The farm truck was parked
near one of the barns and was
left insecure with the ignition
key inside the vehicle. The
owner reported the truck was
stolen this past weekend,
most likely on Sunday night.
The stolen vehicle is
described as:
A grey, 2002 Ford F-250
4X4 with an extended
cab. The truck has newer
tires and multiple dents in
the body of the vehicle.
Tools stolen from
construction site
(GODERICH, Ont.) - Huron
County OPP officers are
currently investigating a break,
enter and theft that took place
at a construction site located
on Parsons Court in Goderich.
Sometime between January
4 and January 7, those
responsible attended the job
site and located a storage
trailer on the property. Upon
gaining access into the storage
trailer those responsible
stole approximately $8,000
worth of power tools.
Some of the stolen
tools included:
A yellow 5000 watt generator
A Stihl 14" concrete saw
(6) - 20 volt Dewalt
impact drivers.
(4) — 20 volt Dewalt drills
(2) — 20 volt DQwait grinders
A 20 volt Dewalt sawzall
A 20 volt Dewalt rotary
hammer drill
A laser level
(19) 20 volt batteries
(6) chargers
Wanted man tries
to evade police
(CENTRAL HURON, Ont.) —A
21 -year-old from Bluewater
was taken into custody and
is now facing a number of
driving and failure to comply
charges following his arrest
last week in Clinton.
On Thursday, January 5 shortly
after 6:00 p.m. Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)
received information that a
wanted male was currently
at an address located on
Townsend Street in Clinton.
As officers arrived on Townsend
Street police were informed the
wanted male had just left the
residence and was driving away
in a Chevrolet Malibu. The
investigating officer located the
suspect vehicle on Townsend
Street and watched as the
vehicle sailed through a stop
sign at the intersection of East
Street. The officer attempted
to stop the suspect vehicle
however the driver failed to pull
over. The driver continued his
dangerous driving by failing to
stop for two stop signs. Within a
short distance the trailing officer
was able to get ahead of the
suspect vehicle and was able
to put a halt to the chase near
the intersection of High Street
and Smith Street South. The
driver was immediately arrested
and taken into police custody.
The 21 -year-old from
Bluewater has been charged
with the following offences:
-Flight While Pursued
by Peace Officer
- Dangerous Driving
- Fail to Comply with
Probation Order (2) counts
Computers stolen
From Classroom
Portable
(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - Huron
County OPP officers are
currently investigating a
break, enter and theft that
took place at St. Joseph's
Elementary School located on
Smith Street North in Clinton.
On the morning of January
6th, 2017 a teacher at the
school discovered one of the
windows of the rear portable
had been smashed and
someone had gained access
into the classroom portable.
Once inside the portable the
thief located and stole two
Dell computer towers.
Police believe this break, enter
and theft took place sometime
through the night of January
5th into the morning of January
6th. The value of the stolen
property is estimated at $1,500.

Match and Rural Expo will
be known as Bruce Power
Day after the company
donated $100,000 Jan. 11 to
be a Distinguished Partner
in the Huron County event.
The 100th International
Plowing Match and Rural
Expo will run Sept. 19-23 on
1,000 acres of farmland near
Walton, in Huron East. It's
expected 100,000 people
will attend to learn more
about modern farming,
while exhibits and about
600 vendors will focus on
education and promotion of
rural living, lifestyles and
businesses. There will also
be historical demonstra-
tions on farming's past,
plowing competitions fea-
turing 10,000 participants,
and a parade, of which
Bruce Power is the title
sponsor.
