More than 200 attend Murray family reunion
On Saturday, June 20, over 200
gathered at the Dublin Pavilion -- de-
scendants and spouses of the late John
Murray and Louisa (Eckert) Murray
who were married at St. Columban on
April 15, 1890.
John and Louisa raised their fam-
ily of 12 on Lot 6, Conc. 11, McKillop,
fondly known as Manley. Their grand-

this property.
The first generation is now all de-

the children, grand-
children and great grandchildren --

In addition to the joy of being able
to visit with so many
relatives, was the
viewing of a pictorial,
ancestral history DVD,
researched and produced by Larry
Murray, youngest grandson of John
and Louisa.
It. captured the historical pride and:
appreciation of the entire Murray clan
and will indeed be a treasure for gen-
erations to come.
Some awards of recognition were
presented. Wisdom and. maturity:

Outdoor church service June 28 daughter °
We. had some nice warm days in
Winthrop followed by rain and
cool evenings. Summer weather
must have a thing about warming
up.
Rev. John's sermon at Cavan United Church
was titled "Buried in Baptism." Greeters and
collectors were Mary and Bud Eyre. The annual
Cemetery Church Service was held at Maitland -
bank this past Sunday.
Many members of Cavan Church attended the
pot luck meal on Sunday evening before Rev.
John and Natalie leave the Seaforth area for a
charge farther south. Will this mean they will
escape some of our winter storms?
Many -friends, relatives and neighbours at-
tended the shower for Melissa Beuerman on.
Wednesday evening. Winthrop area is having
more brides this year than we have seen in some
time.
Sympathy is extended to Beatrice Campbell on
the passing of her sister-in-law Bar-
bara Walters. The funeral was held in
Exeter. Beatrice then went to London
to attend the graduation of grand-
daughter Shannon Nicol. Shannon

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
It is difficult to have rosy thoughts about the
future when your mind is full of blues about the
past.
