Retirement home to host strawberry
ocial for residents on June 23
Queensway residents are looking
forward to attending Hensall's An-
nual Fair coming up this weekend.
Resident's council decided to sponsor
& present prizes at the baby show
and mini pedal tractor pull on June
12 and are thrilled at the opportu-
nity to be involved in this community
event.
With the recent sunshine and nice
weather the deck is getting lots of
use and some residents with "green
thumbs" worked to beautify the area
this past week by planting a selection
of colourful flowers and trailing vines
in window boxes to secure to the deck
railing. With the bistro tables and
chairs and the lovely flowers the deck
will quickly become a favourite area
for small group programs and family
visits.
Volunteer Auxiliary/Family ' Coun-
cil met Tuesday morning to preview
the June calendar, offer assistance
and discuss various issues. Volun-
teer Edna Deitz was thanked for
the beautiful silk corsages that she
had made for residents celebrating
birthdays. The
chosen recipient
for funds raised
at our straw-
berry social this
year will be the
VON Palliative
Care Volunteer
program. The
strawberry so-
cial is scheduled
for Tuesday June
23 at 7 p.m. with
music, by "Lil Au-
drey" with cake,
fresh strawber-
ries and topping
with a drink for
$5.
