Storm brings down trees
After several days
of rain in Winthrop
last week, we have
had a spell of sunny
but cool days with even a touch of
frost visible on Thursday morning.
The brief storm last Saturday eve-
ning brought part of one tree down
in Winthrop and several trees were
downed or damaged in Seaforth.
• The.regular service at Cavan Unit-

was Youth Sunday. It was also the
last day of Sunday School until Sep-
tember.
Greeters and collectors were Larry
and Susan. Wheatley. After the ser-
vice everyone was invited back to
Pryces' pond for a potluck lunch with
hamburgers and hot dogs. Several
children brought fishing poles to try
their luck in the pond.
Bill and Sharon McClure have re-
turned from visiting their daughter
Sandi an.d.her family in. Indiana. On
Winthrop
their way home
they stopped in
at Shipshewana
where they found
many interesting places to visit.
They visited the Hudson museum
and took in the Garden Quilt Tour.
A tour map is available where you
visit towns and farms where gardens
have been formed, using flowers and
plants, into patterns used in quilts.
Total length of the tour is 96 miles.
They also visited a place that ex-
plains the founding of the Menno-
nite/Amish story. They found the
tours very interesting.
