Knight warned councillors
at their Feb. 3 meeting.
"We're hitting an expen-

we should move ahead on,"
he said, going over the pre-

Huron East's 2009 budget.
"We're really trying to do

says a Huron EMS ambulance will be
parked outside the emergency depart-
ment from 8 p.m. to midnight when
they have no calls to respond to during
that time period. -
"They'll be there for the first little
while to -help allay some fearsby the
public. They've told us that being here
will not compromise their operation,”
she says.
However, she stresses that anyone
needing ER services should still call
911 or travel to surrounding hospitals
for medical care.
The new ER hours are also being
mailed out to the 10,000 people in the
SCH catchment area and the seven .
EMS regions in Southwestern Ontar-
io have been informed about the new

munity strategy and we hope we've
reached everyone in the community,"
says Cardinal.
Cardinal says she's been receiving a
few calls from the public asking why
ER wouldn't close during the day since
doctor's officer are open at that time.
"But, there can be emergencies dur-
ing the day and not everyone has a
doctor to go to," she says, adding that
Seaforth sees the most traffic at its ER

Cardinal says she's happy to talk to ,
