Juvenile squad takes lead in Lucknow series
The Seaforth Juvenile Stars posted
a big win at home on Friday night
against the Lucknow Sepoys in their
best of five series.
With the teams tied at a game
apiece going into Friday's game the
sitars were anxious to get the win
before heading back to Lucknow for
game 4 on Saturday.
. With a number of players missing
and no "AP" players available for the
game everyone was going to have to
play a tight game to pull off the win!
Lucknow scored the first goal of the
game at 10:28, a goal which Seaforth •
disputed as the team had an injured
player down on the ice for quite some
time yet the play was not whistled
down. However, with no reprieve
from the ref, it was obvious Seaforth
was going to have to rely solely on
the talent of the team!
Ryan Watterworth opened the scor-
ing for the stars assisted by Jason
Wilson at 8:35 in the first followed by
possibly as the ref stated the "lucki-
est goal ever" scored by Ben Koert
from Brendan Bilcke at 5:16 in the
first.
Despite numerous chances the sec-
ond period remained scoreless.
The third period again saw Sea -
forth unable to get the puck past the
Lucknow goaltender. Fortunately
Lucknow was not able to breach Sea-
forth's defence and goaltender Mike
Dietz!
Finally at 1:28 Darcey Cook assist-
ed by Cory Dawe and Matthew .Cart-
wright slipped one into the Lucknow
net to make it 3-1.
The same threesome slid another
one in the empty net with 41 seconds
left to finish the game.
Game 4 is set for 7:30 p.m. Satur-
day in Lucknow.

Coaches' comments: The Wingham Ironmen
pushed hard all game but the Stars held them
down and came out on top. With the Wingham
goalie pulled in the last minute of the game, the
Ironmen 6 strong threw the kitchen sink at
Ryan Govier and the "Little Line". But the boys
fought back hard not letting them get an edge.

suffered at the Walkerton tournament and
Marty DeCorte suffering a knee injury in
Milverton (get well soon boys!) forcing the lines
to be juggled and positions changed. Through
this the boys have played as a true team.
