While the Seaforth LAC hopes to
attract two new members to the Lo-
cal Advisory Committee to the Huron
Perth Healthcare Alliance, members
discussed what would be the best
timing to advertise vacancies at an
LAC meeting last week.
Alliance CEO Andrew Williams
recommended that since he has re-
cently asked Alliance board members
to indicate if -they'll continue repre-
senting their regions on the four -
hospital board, LACs might consider
waiting until all vacancies are deter-
mined.
"All the LACs have the requisite
number but some are discussing mov-
ing up to seven from five," he said.
Tony Vanden Hengel pointed out
that the discussion about adding two
new - members to the LAC was first
broached in September.
But, Seaforth Commmunity Hos-
pital administrator Mary Cardinal
pointed out that the LAC might want
to hold off for a few months to time it's
vacancies with the Alliance board's.
"I think it's just as easy to do it all
at once," said Alliance board member
Sheila Morton.
• "We will have a sense of the va-
cancies before too long. Certainly by
our next meeting we should be able
to move forward with advertising,"
said Alliance board member Dick
Burgess.
