Juvenile series tied at 1-1
The Juvenile Seaforth Stars trav-
elled to Lucknow on Sunday eve-
ning to play game 2 of their best of
five series.
Game one was played in Seaforth
the previous week and saw the
Stars win handily 9-0, leaving the
team confident in their match up.
Unfortunately, we may have be-
come too confident!
The game was evenly . matched
for the better part of the first pe-
riod until Ryan Watterworth snuck
one past the Lucknow netminder
on a pass from Brad McLaughlin
at 7:55 in the first period.
However, Lucknow responded by
tying it up : a mere minute and .14
seconds later scoring on Joel Dal-
ton.
The second period had Lucknow
scoring their second goal at 11:04,
the Stars responded this time with
their own goal two minutes and 13
seconds later scored by Zach Steen-
stra on a pass from Tymen Deweerd
and Ryan Watterworth.
With overtime looming the, Stars
gave it their best effort. However,
this was how regulation time was
to end with a 2-2 tie.
Moving to overtime and tighten-
ing up the bench the team even had
the benefit of a starting OT with a
power play, but could not get a puck
past the red hot Lucknow goalie!
A bad bounce allowed the Luc -
know team to get a odd man rush
(a play that happened a number
of times in this game) giving Luc -
know the shot that ended the game
when the scored the winning goal
in over time.
That goal has tied this best three
out of five series at a game a piece.
Game 3 is set for 7:30 in Seaforth
on Friday night.

lace finish in division
By picking up three of a possible
four points over the weekend, the
Clinton Radars locked up 4th placed
in the WOAA South division and
have assured themselves of home
ice advantage in the first round of
the playoffs.
In Goderich on Friday night, the
Radars got off to a slow start as
they were down 3-0. six minutes in
to the second period. Dave Meriam
had all three Goderich goals. Mark
VanDooren's goal midway through
the period gave the Radars some
life that carried over to the third
period.
The Radars continued to battle
bapk and with seven minutes to go
:tier Elligsen scored a powerplay,
goal to get the Radars within one.
Just over three minutes later,
Shawn Walker scored to even the
game at 3-3.,Jt:
With no goals in overtime, the
game was decided by a shoot-out.
Unfortunately for the Radars, God-
erich would prevail, scoring three
times in five attempts while the Ra-
dars only scored twice making the
final score 4-3 for the Pirates.
-Chuck Robertson started the
game in goal but was replaced by
Sean Ellison after the Pirates third
goal.

Back on home ice on Saturday, the
Radars faced the Petrolia Squires
in another close game that saw
some great goaltending at both
ends. Saturday's game also needed
a shoot-out. This time the Radars
came out on top, winning 3-2. It
was only Petrolia's third loss of the
season.
All of the scoring was done
in the second period. Petrolia opened
the scoring four and a half minutes
in. Cole Stewart evened the score
four minutes later. Brenden Dale
scored with less than six minutes to
go in the period, but just 21 seconds
later Petrolia would tie it up. Kyle
Gould scored both Squires goals.
Even the shoot-out needed extra
time. Both teams . scored twice on
their first five shots. Stewart finally
ended the game with a goal on the
Radars seventh shot.
Sean Ellison got the win in goal
for the Radars in his first action in
the Clinton arena. Petrolia goalie
Darryl Foster was the main reason
why the Squires managed to pick
up the single point.
The Radars will face either
Tillsonburg or Goderich in the first
round of the
playoffs. To fin-
ish fifth, Tillson-
burg needs to
