told. the Expositor that owners of
dogs who permit their dogs to run
loose in Seaforth can expect no fur-
ther consideration.
"From now on dogs found at large
will be shot if they can't be identi-
fied. If the owner is known a charge -
will be •laid and the owner sum-
moned to court."
Sandra Doig, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. R.J. Doig of McKIllop was
selected one the top five speakers
in the provincial Junior Farmer
speaking competition in Thronto on
Saturday.
The death occured. in London on
Tuesday of Elzebert Turgeon, for-
mer well-known Seaforth business-
man. In his 75th year, he had been
in poor -health for more than two
years. Mr. Turgeon was a resident
here for the ten years when he op-
erated Excellence Flour Mills Ltd.

Former Seaforth resident and
figure skater Lloyd Eisler, 20, of
Hamilton and his partner Kathy
Matousek, 19, are two of the best
figure skaters in Canada.
They proved it Sunday afternoon,
winning the gold medal in senior
pairs at the national figure skating
competition in Regina.
A series of break-ins in Seaforth
, have resulted in thefts from $3 to
$1,700 since Dec. 31.
At the Seaforth Creamery, $1,700 --
of butter was reported stolen on
Dec. 31.
The Huron County Board of Edu-
cation is not going out to close three
schools earmarked for accomoda-
- tions reviewssaid trustee John
Jewitt rebuking remarks made by
one of his colleagues.
Mr. Jewitt made this observation
at the board's Jan. 9 meeting after
trustee Dr. John Goddard ques-
tioned the board, suggesting he
thinks the schools are going to be
closed.
The schools in question are J.A.D.
•McCurdy Public School in. Huron
• Park, Hensall Public School and
Vanastra Public School.
