Betty Glanville, Neil Dolmage
and Ashley Campbell present
wreaths on Remembrance Day
"In Flanders Fields the
poppies blow, between the
crosses row on row." What
an appropriate poem for Nov. 11.
A good crowd attended the service at
the cenotaph in Seaforth with Pastor
Steve Hidebrand presiding.
Presenting wreaths from the Winthrop
area were Betty Glanville for Cavan
United Church, Neil Dolmage for the
Forresters and Ashley Campbell for
Seaforth Public School. This year the
weather was cool but not raining or
snowing for the outdoor service.
The service at Cavan included the
singing of "0 Canada" and "God Save the
Queen" as well as observing "The Last
Post, Silence and Reveille."
Rev. John's sermon was titled
"Collective Recollection."
During the children's time he asked
members of the congregation to say what
Remembrance Day means to them.
Answers varied from remembering family
