With 10 more skaters
than last year, close to half
of the 63 skatersin this
year's Seaforth Figure
Skating Club are begin-
ners.
"We're really pleased
with the increase in atten-
dance this year since we
lost a few to high school
and university," says the
club's treasurer Ronda
Evans.
While there will be no
skating carnival this year,
the club plans to enter at
least three competitions
including the Lyle
McPhedran Memorial
Invitational in Woodstock
Feb. 1-3, the Pat Abela
Memorial in Tilbury Feb.
22-24 and the Futures
competition in Exeter
March 1 and 2.
Since only skaters at
Level 4 and over can com-
pete, Evans says it'stkely
up to seven skaters -from
the Seaforth club ,will
enter the competitions.
"We have 10-15 skaters
at that level but not all of
them want to compete,"
she says.
The Seaforth club will
also be entering a. float in
the Seaforth Santa Claus
parade for the first time in
many years.
