Goals: Sheldon Pryce 4, Haden Bennewies,
Claire Horan, Quin Ryan
Coaches' comments: The team played hard
during all of the games, but it was the multi-
tude of fans that helped keep the kids pumped
and energized enough to pull off a win in the
final game of the afternoon against Mitchell.

Seaforth 2 vs Mitchell 2
Goals: Mark Metzger, Sheldon Pryce
Seaforth 4 vs South Huron 4
Goals: Ben Robinson 2, Trevor DeCorte, Logan
Finlayson
Coaches' comments: The team came out fly-
ing against Goderich and played well both
offensively and defensively for the win. In the
second game, the goals did not come easily with
a number of posts hit, missed opportunities
and big saves by the Mitchell goaltender. The
third game of the day was the moat challenging
as they faced a fast skating South Huron team.
Ben Robinson and Logan Finlayson managed
goals late in the game to give Seaforth a the
tie. A great team effort was put forth by the
Stars.

Midgets move on to finals
as bantam girls finish season
While Seaforth's local league
midget team moved on to the
WOAA (Western Ontario Athletic
Association) finals over the week-
end, Seaforth's bantam girls were
beaten out of the OWHA (Ontario
Women's Hockey Association) finals
by one point. ,
The midgets won all four of its
games during the last two weeks,
beating Goderich I 5-4 in overtime,
beating Goderich II 4-3, defeating
Mt. Forest 4-3 in overtime and beat-
ing Mt. Forest again 7-4.
In each overtime game, Cory
Dawe scored the winning goal.
Coach Brett Van Dyk says he's
feeling "pretty hopeful" in the
upcoming best of five -game series
against Walkerton.
"We beat them 2-1 in a tourna-
ment so I hope we can do it again,"
says Van Dyk.
The bantam girls lost their chance
at going to provincials by one point,
coming third out of 18 teams.
"You've got to be proud of that,"
says coach lbny Arts.
"All we needed was for someone to
tie Mildmay and we would have
gone to the finals. It came down to
one more goal for us. But, our 16
girls worked really hard as a team
this season and there's always next
year," he says.
The bantam girls have five more
games in Western Ontario women's
league play-offs.
