John's sermon was titled "Theology and Ecology of a Small Planet: Is too much of a good thing wonderful?" He talked about "eco- logical footprints," comparing differ- ent countries and how much food is consumed by each. A sandwich luncheon followed church and after this the annual meeting occurred. Rev. John was appointed chairperson and Carol Hunt, secretary. Twenty-two mem- bers were present. Grace Dolmage and Sharon McClure will replace Karen Braecker and Mike Goos on the Board of Stewards. Bud Eyre replaces Sherry McCall on Ministry and Personnel. Marion Hunt and friends recently returned from a trip to the Dominican. They enjoyed seven days of sun and 30C temperatures. Jim and Ruth Axtmann have returned from a two-week cruise. They flew from Toronto to Fort Lauderdale where they boarded the ship. A stop was made at Aruba before entering the Panama Canal. The canal is similar to Thorold locks but much larger. They heard the history of the canal enroute, how large a job it was and the fact it was fin- ished in 1914 just before the First World war broke out. Other stops were made in Panama City, Costa Rica and Mexico City before reaching, Los Angeles where they flew home to Toronto. The weather was very good until they reached Kitchener where they encountered snow and because of the squall effect decided to stay the night in Stratford, returning- home on Sunday.
