Radars
tied
after two
It appears that the Clinton Radars
and Palmerston 81s have entered
into another long playoff battle.
The first two games have each
been decided by one goal with both
teams winning on home ice.
Friday in Clinton saw the Radars
jump out to a 1-0 lead with just
under six minutes to play in the
first when Luke Vick scored a
breakaway goal.
The score remained that way until
Palmerston's Jeff Reinhart scored a
shorthanded goal with 4:41 to go in
the second period.
Midway through the final period,
Scott Henderson's backhand shot
found its way past 81's goalie Scott
Richardson to give the Radars a 2-1
lead.
Three and half minutes later,
Craig Smith roofed a shot over
Richardson to make it 3-1.
With just 22 seconds left, Jason
Modouplos scored a powerplay goal
the get Palmerston within one and
make the final score 3-2 for the

Chuck Robertson was solid all
night in goal for the Radars.
Brenden Dale collected two assists
in the win.
Sunday in Palmerston was anoth-
er close game. Dan Easter scored
late in the first to give the Radars a
1-0 lead after one period.
Palmerston tied the game with
seven minutes to play in the second
on a powerplay goal by Eddie
O'Toole. Just 1:26 later,
Radars goalie Greg Klatt made a
nice pass that sent Vick in alone as
he scored to put the Radars back on
top.

Early in
third, O'Toole's
second goal of the game made it 2-2.
With 3:11 left to play, Vick stole the
puck from an 81's defender and
made three ridiculous moves to get
by two other 81's and deke out
Richardson to give the Radars
another one goal lead.
Then with only 1:42 left, Referee
Dave Page awarded a penalty -shot
to Palmerston's Dan Richardson
who scored to make it 3-3 and send
the game to overtime.
10:25 into extra time, Brent
Cochrane scored to give the 81's the
win and even the series at one win
apiece.
Game 3 is this Friday (Feb.16) in
Clinton. Game 4 will be played in
Harriston on Saturday (Feb.17).
Both games
will start at 8:30
pm.
