Peewees lose in consolation finals
From Page 14
Seaforth's midget boys fared
worse than the girls, losing
both of their games.
"We played really well (in
the first game), but missed
some chances on the net,"
says coach Alvin Dow.
"(During the second game) I
don't think they played as
well as they could have. They
seemed to get off track."
The midget boys lost to the
Windsor Devils 1-0 and then
to the Windsor Jr. Riot 4-0.
Seaforth's bantams came
away with one win and two
losses.
Their first game was a 5-0
loss to the Windsor Riot, fol-
lowed by a 1-0 overtime win
against an east coast team
and finished with a 1-0 loss to
Innisfil.
Coach Mike Regier says
their second game was a close
one, with Innisfil scoring with
only a couple minutes left in
regulation.
"We outplayed them. That
was our game to win," he
says.
Seaforth's other team - the
peewees - came the next clos-
est after the Assassins to
bringing home a medal.
Rallying after dropping
their first two games, the pee-
wees made it to the consola-
tion finals, losing 1-0 ten
minutes into overtime.
"They played really well.
The overtime was even. We
had three or four good
chances," recalls coach Steve
Hulshof.
The peewees lost their first
two games, 4-0 to the Eastern
Warriors and 1-0 to the
Eastern Titans, which
dropped.them into the conso-
lation side.
From there, the peewees
defeated the Central East
Rug Rats 5-0, then the
Mildmay Red Wings 1-0,
before losing in the finals in a
rematch with the Titans.
