Huron Expositor, 2006-12-17, Page 17Sports Redmen wins games in Wingham On Monday the Redmen travelled to Wingham for league games against the F. E. Madill Mustangs. The Seniors began the day with a less than impressive effort, missing many lay ups and open shots, and only holding a small lead at half time. In the third quarter the Redmen pulled away, opening up an 18 point lead, but did their best to try to give it back at the end of the game. The final score was only 49 - 41. A much stronger effort will be need- ed after the New Year when the Redmen have to face the Perth County schools. The Juniors on the other hand came out flying and didn't look back. Their pressure proved too much for the Mustangs, and they got out to an 18 - 2 lead to start the game, before giving up some easy baskets. The Redmen quickly recovered, and pushed the lead up over 20. The rook- ies played the majority of the 3rd and 4th quarter, and despite making mis- takes, managed to hold onto the lead as the Redmen ended up with another double digit victory. Both teams are now 3-1 in league play heading into Christmas break. They will play their first game back here against St. Annes on Wednesday, Jan. 10, starting at 3 p.m. Scoreboard From Page 16 Novice Boys Dec. 21 • Seaforth 3 Mitchell 3 Goals: Kasey Harrison, Jacob Campbell, Jake Finlayson PeeWee Boys Local League Dec. 18 Seaforth 8 vs BCH 1 Goals: Ethan Scott 2, James Looby 2, Spencer Hilary Long photo Molly Horbanuik, of the Central Huron Secondary School girls' senior volleyball team, prepares to deliver a serve during a game in Mitchell last week.
