Scott Malone Grade 5 SPS Dear Children of the World, Our school is learning about peace. I'm going to write some virtues on peace. Perseverance - Perseverance is when you make a mistake, keep going even though you want to quit. It is also trying until you succeed, just like _the saying try try and you'll succeed. Or when you enter a race or a contest, you don't need to come in first place you just need to try. The final way is if something is too hard, find something that's easier. Caring - Caring is showing you care about another person, yourself, and the environment. Another way is if you borrow something from someone don't totally destroy it, in fact don't brake it at all. Empathy - Empathy is knowing how other peo- ple feel. It's like putting yourself in another per- son's shoes. It also is if someone is getting bullied you know how they feel or if they're in pain you know how they feel. Compassion - Compassion is one step further than empathy. Instead of knowing how they feel, it's doing something about it. If they're getting bullied stand up for them. Or if they're hurt get an adult or a teacher. I hope this helps you show peace. Sam Henderson Grade 5 SPS Peace on Earth t Dear kids in Seaforth, Matt Oliver, Grade 6, Seaforth Public School Right now I am going to be writing a little poem to the kids in Seaforth about peace on earth. I show peace at school, at home, in a restaurant and in any other place. When do you show peace? I show peace with my friends but you should show peace all the time. How do you show peace? I show peace by not causing fights, sharing, and giving good com- ments to myself and other people. Now that you know what peace is, I'm going to tell you why we should show peace. We should show peace to stop fights and to make our world a better place. Now that's why we should try to show as much peace as possible! Joe Geneau Grade 6
