"Quite honestly," says Christie, "we're looking at one -and -a -half to two years (before anything would be built), assuming everything- falls into place." "The last few months I've adopted some patience," he adds jokingly. • Christie's plan to erect a 73 -metre high tower with 53 -metre high sweeping blades on his farm at Lot 10, Con. 14 of Hibbert is still just that - a plan. Christie is waiting to hear back from the Ontario Energy Board, with regards to the a application he filed with them last week for a generating licence. If he is approved for the licence, Christie says there is still one large hurdle left - Ontario Hydro, which gets to make the final decision. And, Christie points out, even if Ontario Hydro approves his plan, he's not necessarily out of the woods yet. Christie is hoping the turbine he purchases, which would connect directly into Hydro One's power grid through a three-phase power line, would be large enough to generate 800 kilowatts and connect into the power line a short distance' from . his property. However, Christie says there's a concern that because of the amount of kilowatts his turbine would generate that he would have to connect into the power line at a different spot, further from his property, costing much more.
