Seaforth school runners ,compete at district meets
Students place high at meets in Mitchell and Wildwood for both Seaforth Public and St. James

and determination at the system-
wide run at Wildwood Conservation
Area on Oct. 16.
In the age nine and 10 boys' cate-
gory, Logan Lammerant came fifth,

Scott Parsons came 78th.
In the age nine and 10 girls' cate-

Seaforth Public School runners
traveled to Mitchell last week,
where they competed in the Avon
Maitland District School Board's
cross country meet Oct. 16 at Upper
Thames Elementary School.
The meet saw nearly 100 runners
in: each division.
In the seven and under boys' 100
metre, Nic Zwep finished 12th.
In the eight-year-old girls' 100
metre, Meg Melady: finished 20th,
while Alison Braecker finished 23rd.
In the eight-year-old boys' 100
metre, Caleb Geerts finished 58th.
In the 9 -year-old girls' 100 metre,
Natasha Arts finished 18th.
In the 10 -year-old girls' 1500
metre, Farren Goos finished 18th,
while Christina Schelken finished
19th.
In the ten -year-old boys' 1500
metre, Joe Geneau finished 30th,
while Johnny Goulding finished
32nd and Edward Glanville finished
42nd.
In the 11 -year-old girls' 1500
metre, Melissa Glanville finished
8th, while Miranda Burns -Kozak
finished 28th.
In the 11 -year-old boys' 200 metre

country runners will be
hitting the trails at
Springwater Conservation
Area this week after an
impressive showing by
both Clinton schools at a
recent Huron -Perth meet.
St. Anne's hosted 10
schools for the Oct. 17
Huron -Perth finals.
Runners battled through
the rain and cold to claim
their spot at the Western
Ontario Secondary School
Athletic Association
(WOSSAA) championships
near Aylmer on Thursday.
Eagles coach, Baird
Robinson, said the entire
St. Anne's team qualified
for WOSSAA, with three
teams claiming top hon-
ours. The midget girls,
junior girls and senior
boys teams finished first
in their respective divi-
sions.
St. Anne's junior boys
were second, the midget
boys were fourth and the
senior girls were fifth.
In a tie-breaker St.
Anne's placed second over-
all behind St. Michael's in
the girls' team and overall
team rankings.
CHSS will be sending
six midget division ath-
letes to WOSSAA.
The school's midget boys'
team — comprised of John
Shepherd, David Bolton,
Brandon Sallows and
Colin Bokhout — finished
third overall.
Midget girls' runners

Rowntree also qualified
for the Oct. 26 WOSSAA
meet.
