Sympathy of the com- munity is extended to the family of Grace Pethick who passed away last week. Visiting with Marion and ' Ken McClure was their daughter Lisa and her family from North Carolina. Ken and Marion entertained rela- tives and friends to intro- duce Lisa's husband Tom and baby son William. Gordon and Irma Pryce recently travelled to Ottawa to attend a wed- ding. Rev. John and Natalie Gould hosted a garden party on the manse lawn on Sunday. The event, was a surprise birthday party for Rev. John's mother, Margaret, on her 90th birthday on the 15th. Ryan French leads baseball team to five wins in St. Thomas tournament A fun baseball weekend was held in St. Thomas for the try -outs for the world's baseball tournament, to be held in Kitchener on the weekend of Aug. 8-16. Jean Ryan's (of Dublin) grandson, Ryan French, pitched awesome ball leading his team to five straight wins. Ryan plays for the Elmira Cubs. Cheering Ryan and his team were Marilyn, Al and Jen French, Jean Ryan, Maureen, Kand Mandi Lang. Police respond to domestic disturbance in Seaforth Huron OPP responded to a family dispute in Seaforth on Aug. 8 at approximately 11:30 p.m. Officers responded to find a 58 -year-old female that was acting irrational and refusing to comply with request from the police. The woman was arrested for breach of peace and was returned to the Huron detachment where she attended Goderich Provincial court for a bail hearing Aug. 9.
