Huron East council
has agreed to add
another $2,500 to its
$15,000 Communities in
Bloom budget.
Communities in
Bloom chair Bob Fisher
appeared at council at
its Aug. 1 meeting, say-
ing the committee was a
little "short" on funds to
pay for the social events
for the judges and the
trip to the awards cere-
mony in Brandon,
Manitoba.
"We didn't realize it
was a command perfor-
mance in Brandon," he
said.
Council approved the
increase. and praised the
community for the work
it's done beautifying the
town.
"I was expecting a lot
bigger number with the
build-up you were giv-
ing us, Bob," said
Deputy -Mayor Bernie
MacLellan, adding, "I
see the way the streets
look and they do look
nice."
Grey Coun. Mark
Beaven agreed, congrat-
ulating Fisher for the
difference in the town's
appearance.
As the judging week-
end nears on Aug. 18
and 19, council was
given an itinerary.
