CHRISTENSEN
I would like to thank all of our great friends in the
Seaforth, Clinton, Walton and Blyth areas for your
exceptional hospitality during our recent visit. It
was so cool to see how everyone aged except
me! LOL. Our special thanks to the Christensens
in Clinton and Roy and Karleen Glanville for their
support after mother's accident. She is now back
in Kelowna resting her broken limbs and I am
safely back in Calgary. My biggest regret of
course is that there were so many more friends I
wanted to see after my 28 years of being away,
but time was too short. For those who I missed, it
would be very nice to get an e-mail from you at
rchrisetelus.net or call at 1-866-892-5036. Some
things did change, but so much has stood still in
time, which was great to see. All the best to all
my "old" homies! - Ron Christensen 47-

BENNETT
I would like to thank everyone who attended and
supported my community shower at Egmondville
United Church on July 4, 2006. Thank you to all
the ladies who helped to organize and plan the
fun filled evening. I feel very fortunate to be a
part of such a wonderful community. Thanks
again, Lisa 47-29x1

Sports
Three
tournaments
held at greens
The Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club
held three tournaments at the
greens this past week.
Monday evening was a men's mini
tournament at 7 p.m. with Jack
Muir in charge. Winners were Neil
Beuerman, Murray McClure and
Fred Tilley. Snacks were served
after bowling.
Wednesday, July 12 at 10 a.m. saw
48 bowlers present for a mixed
trebles tournament sponsored by
Etue Insurance and Progressive
Turf. Rain caused a short delay in
the first game but skies cleared and
made way for a very successful
tournament.
First place was Tom Phillips,
Carol Carter and Lee Ryan. Also
with three wins were London's
Chuck and Kathy Townsend and son
Mike.
High 2 game winners were Rick
Wood, Shelagh Long and Dave
Ducklow. Consolation prize winners
were Keith Snell, Jean Bewley and
Doug Jones.
Friday, July 14 was optional
singles sponsored by Toronto
Dominion Bank. High bowler was
Ryan Bester of Hanover and second
went to Ryan's father Bob Bester.
High 2 game winner was Shirley
Schmidt of Goderich followed by
Jack Muir, Lee Ryan and Diane
March, with consolation to Dave
Ducklow. After bowling, bowlers
enjoyed cake and ice cream courtesy
of Donna Beuerman who was
hostess.
Friday evening was barbecue time
from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for all members
and associates with Neil Beuerman
as master chef and Donna and Rick
assisting.
Edna Waddington was celebrating
her 80th birthday and shared a
large decorated cake with all
present who in turn sang Happy
Birthday to Edna.
In out-of-town tournaments Rick
Wood and Marian Smith won second
prize at Lucknow mixed pairs
Saturday. Games were 10 ends
instead of 12 due to the heat.
• Sunday at Stratford, Fred Tilley
and Carol Carter won consolation in
mixed pairs.
Bowling in the Mott Memorial
(one novice player any position) on
Sunday at Sarnia, Rick Wood, Dave
Ducklow and June Moore were
consolation winners.
This past week saw the passing of
one of our long time associate
members, Viola Lawson at
Huronview. Viola rarely missed a
pot luck supper and cards when she
was able.
