Walton Little School
raises $2,800 at carnival
Susan Hundertmark
Under, threatening skies, Walton
Little School raised $2,800 at a very
successful carnival, which attracted
410 people on Saturday morning.
Featuring a petting zoo by Tiger
Paw Exotics from Arthur, exotic
birds from Evergreen Acres bird
sanctuary in Fergus, a bouncy cas-
tle, face painting, the Grey Fire
Department and pony rides, the
first ever carnival at Walton Little
School was a great success, say
organizers.
It's pretty exciting. The kids had
a great time," says Sherri Taylor, of
the parent advisory council.
ile storms travelled around
Walton all morning, the rain held . off
until 2:02 p.m., moments after the
carnival ended.
"It rained all around us. We were
lucky," says Taylor.
The money raised will go towards
playground improvement, including
a wooden fence
to block the
wind.
