On May 9, 2006, local regulations to implement Ontario
Regulation 97/04 (0. Reg. 97/04) - Regulation of
Development, Interference with Wetlands and Alterations
to Shorelines and Watercourses, became effective. Each
Conservation Authority has alocal regulation to implement
O. Reg. 97/04. 'the main objective of regulations made
under O. Reg. 97/04 is to ensure publk safety with regards
to natural hazards through issuance of permits for works
within or in proximity to lakes, rivers, streams or wetlands,
as may be required.

VAN DER MOLEN, Mary Jane: of R.R. 4, Clinton at Seaforth Community
Hospital on Tuesday, May 30th, 2006 in her 70th year. Mary Jane Whyte,
beloved wife of the late Frank Van der Molen. Loved mother of Paul and
Elaine, R.R. 2, Seaforth, Mark of Pakistan, and Nlargaret'and Craig Elliott of
Nova Scotia. Much loved grandmother of four grandchildren, Tanis and Tyler
Van der Molen and Jake and Ryan Elliott. Mary is the loved sister of Nick
and Joan Whyte, Bill and Regina Whyte, all of Hullett Township, John and
Laura Whyte, Lindsay, and Margie Whyte of Guelph. Predeceased by her
parents Wilfrid (Nick) and Margaret (McMillan) Whyte and one brother
Thomas. There will be no funeral home visitation. A celebration of Mary's
life was held at Londesborough United Church, Londesborough on Monday,
June 5th at 2:00 p.m. A private family service for the burial of ashes was at
Maitlandbank Cemetery, Seaforth. Expressions of sympathy may be
directed to the Seaforth and Area Food Bank, or the Canadian Cancer

MURRAY, Vera: Vera Murray, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-
grandmother and friend, born in McKillop Township April 7, 1920, passed
away suddenly at Seaforth Community Hospital on Tuesday, May 30, 2006
in her 87th year -- bringing an end to a long and inspiring life. Elizabeth
Veronica (Vera Duffy) Murray of Seaforth and formerly of McKillop
Township, beloved wife of the late Raymond Murray (2003). Cherished
mother of seven, Bill and Martha Murray of R.R. #5, Seaforth, Elaine and
Gerry Van den Henget, of Seaforth, Mary Lou and Pat Jordan of Stratford,
Joe and Wendy Murray of Whitby, Patricia and Frank Crowley of R.R. 5,
Seaforth Doug and Darcy of Japan and Jean and Brian Harris of
Kitchener. Loving grandmother of 26 grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Esther Rau, Exeter, Rita
Manley, Stratford, Bob (Ruth) Duffy, R.R. #1, Dublin, Eldon O'Brien,
Goderich, Tom (Maddie) Murray, Vincent Murray and Grace Murray, all of
Seaforth. Also remembered by several nieces and nephews and great-
nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by her parents William and
Loretta (O'Reilly) Duffy, a brother Lou Duffy, a sister Mary O'Brien and
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Alvin Rau, Mervyn Manley, Mary (Zack)
Ryan, Frank (Marion) Murray, Dominic Murray, Dorothy Murray, Christine
Murray and Hazel Murray. Family received friends at the Whitney-Ribey
Funeral Home, Seaforth on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Friday from
3:30-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial was held at
St. James Roman Catholic Church, Seaforth on Saturday, June 3 at 11:00
a.m. Fr. Chris Gillespie officiated. Parish and C.W.L. prayers were held on
Friday at 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment St. Columban Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rob Var1 den Henget, Stephen Van den Henget, Jason
Murray, Justin Murray, Jim Crowley, John Crowley, Matt Harris and Greg
Murray. Flower bearers were Jenna Murray, Marianne Van den Henget,
Karen Maffey, Dianne Murray, Kathleen Harris and Jeanette Crowley.
Readers were Erica Murray, Carla Hart, Amy Jordan, Jenna Murray, Mark
Harris. Gift bearers were Karen Maffey, Kathleen Harris, Jeanette Crowley,
Julianne Crowley, Dianne Murray, Debbie Van den Henget, Marianne Van
den Henget, Danielle Van den Henget. Altar servers were Ian Murray,
Randy Murray, Kalen Devereaux, Shawn Goodman. Memorial donations

McEWING, Janie: Janie Elizabeth (Bernard)
McEwing of Huronview, Clinton, and formerly of
Hullett Township (54 years) and Seaforth (8
years), passed away peacefully in her 87th year
on Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Beloved wife
(almost 60 years) of the late John H. McEwing
(February, 1998). Dear mother of Beth McEwing
Read and Marjorie Cartwright, Seaforth, Noreen
(Herman) Lefler, Simcoe, Alex (Sharon)
MacEwing, Maryhill and Karen McEwing (John)
McConnell, London. Dear "grandma" of 11
grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Janie
was born July 12, 1919 in Morris Township to Earl
L. Bernard and Annie V. Alcock. She is survived
by her brother and sisters-in-law Howard (Joan)
Bernard, and Lillian Bernard, all of Brussels. She
is also survived by a brother-in-law James
(Gloria) McEwing. Several nephews and nieces
also survive. Predeceased by a son-in-law
Howard Cartwright (February, 1999), her brothers
Thomas (Margaret) Bernard and George Bernard,
her sister Mary (Harold) East, and sisters-in-law
and brothers-in-law Helen (William) Pepper and
Marjorie (Norman) Lloyd. Mom was a willing and
active worker both in Burn's Church, Hullett
Township, and Walton United Church women's
groups and thoroughly enjoyed the socialization
when preparing food for the annual church
suppers and other events. She will be well
remembered for her bountiful garden and
beautiful flower beds. She loved to share both
garden produce and flowers with her many
neighbours and friends. Friends and family were
received at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home,
Seaforth on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A
celebration of Janie's life will be conducted
(today) Wednesday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. at
Northside United Church, 54 Goderich St. West,
Seaforth. Huronview Chaplain, Fran Donohue, will
officiate, assisted by Rev. John Gould. interment
Maitlandbank Cemetery, Seaforth. Memorial
donations to Alzheimer Society, Canadian Cancer
Society or to a charity of your choice will be
appreciated. The family would. like to express a
very sincere thank you to the staff at Huronview
for the compassionate and dedicated care given
to Mom for the past six years. They were truly her
