PICNICKED AT THE BEND.
The shore of old Lake Huron at
Grand Bend was the attractian,for thet
Trivitt Memorial Sunday School pic-
nic again this year,Iatnsd a most joyous
and happy crowd was in attendance.
The, weather was ideal and the usual
program of sports was indulged in,
at the conclusion of which a vert
interesting baseball match was played
between the elderly members of the
crowd and the juniors, the latter win-
ning out. It .was probably the most'
successful picnic tutdeethese auspices
in many years.
Owing to the Main Street and James
Street Sunday School picnics our
bread delivery will be changed from
Wednesday to Thursday.

Ambrose O. Pattison .Canadian, Nat-
ional agent at Clinton, has retired
after a service at railroading of" 54

ledge Bissett, who died_ at Dauphin,
Main, were brought here on Thursday
evening, and the funeral took plibe to
Exeter Cemetery on. Friday afternoon,
the funeral being of a private nature
Mrs. Bissett accompanied the remains
to Exeter. Deceased had -been, ill only
a few days,

will be held on August 1st, and the
first 44 rinks 'entered will 'engage, „in

Major Heaman, and, five, sets of prizes
will be played for on the plus /land
minus basis. Four games for each rink
and finals far the, six high rinks.
The Friday 'evening bowling tourney
attracted forty players, nine- of whom
were from Hensall and. two front Dash -
woad, Two Hensell bowlers, o-ne from
Dashwood, and five from Exeter got
in the money. Th.e rink composed, of
Geo. .Snell„ J. H. Griev‘e4 D. McKin-
non, and W. J. Human won first, with
three wins and a plus,_ of 22; and sec-
ond prizes went to J. Prycle, B. Fisher
L. Nichol and W., W. Taman, who, had
three wins ,and plus of 13. Fred
Simmons' rink had three wins with,
plus of nine. ,
Four pairs of Exeter bowlers were
in Seaforth last 'week at the tourna-.
