Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home, 109 Montreal St., Mitchell on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Hibbert United Church, Staffa on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. She resided in Listowel and was formerly of Atwood. She was born 83 years ago in McKillop Township, a daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Checkley) Broome. Gladys was the beloved wife of the late Norman Nicholson who predeceased her in 2000. She was the sister of Spence Broome and Shirley Misner of Atwood, Joyce and Charlie Gabel of Listowel, and will be remembered by her sister-in-law Shirley Nicholson of Blyth .and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Wilbert, her sisters Mildred and Marjorie and her sister-in-law Marjorie Broome. Gladys' family invites relatives and friends to share their memories at Peebles Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood, on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
