The signing of the final develop-
ment agreement for the Bridges of
Seaforth is the culmination of a long
12 -year process towards a 248 -home
adult lifestyle community at the
Seaforth golf course.
"It's finally happening, to the
delight of everyone," says developer
Bill MacLean.
MacLean, his partner Iry Teper
and Huron East Mayor Joe Seili
signed the final agreement Monday
at town hall.
The signing of the development
agreement will allow the developers
to bring in the water and hydro ser-
vices and begin to build the 20
homes that have been sold already
in the Bridges subdivision.
Paving of the roads and parking
lot of the first phase of the develop-
ment was completed late last year
and the three model homes built
last summer will be decorated in
the next few weeks.
"We haven't shown any models
yet. We decided to hold back until
spring," says MacLean.
He says the models will begin to
be shown in mid-April with a grand
opening planned for the weekend of
May 5, 6 and 7.
The grand opening will include a
formal ribbon -cutting on May 5 with
tours of the model homes for the
public all weekend.
A barbecue and music will also
accompany a hole -in -one competi-
and 6, with the
prize of $5,000
for a hole in one.
If no one scores
the hole -in -one,
the developers
will contribute
$25,000 towards
an as -yet
unnamed
Seaforth charity.
The complex's
recreation centre
will begin con-
struction this
year along with
landscaping of
the entrance.
Promotion of
the Egmondville
development is
also going well,
with a seven -
minute televi-
sion feature
about-Seaforth
and the Bridges
development on
CHCH in Toronto scheduled to be
shown in April, May and June.
Advertising is also planned
around the grand opening in news-
papers in London, Kitchener and
Zbronto.
"We're going to start to really
bring in the traffic to the area, try-
ing to attract the right audience,"
says MacLean.
Teper says they .already have a
list of around 400 people who have

He adds that while many people
may not be familiar with Seaforth,
they'll like what they see once they
arrive.
"I think the town sells itself. It's
just a matter of getting people out
here."
MacLean says a golf tournament
for people over 50 from across
Ontario will be hosted in mid-June
to show off the golf course and the
development.
And, for non -golfing spouses, a
bus tour of Huron County attrac-
tions will be offered to give potential
residents an idea of what the area
offers.
"We're quite pleased it's all com-
ing to fruition. Fears can be put to
rest - it's actually happening," says
MacLean.
