First major snowfall results in 17 minor accidents Huron officers were kept busy as the first taste of winter driving hit Huron County last Thursday. Officers responded to 17 minor road -related accidents on Nov. 17, some of them on Highway 8 between Seaforth and Clinton. Huron OPP remind motorists to change their driving habits and slow down as winter PARKING NOTICE To all the residents of the Municipality of Huron East The council of the Municipality of Huron East requests the cooperation of the ratepayers regarding the parking of cars and other vehicles, and the depositing of snow on municipal roads during the period in which snow clearing operations are necessary. It is an offense under the Highway Traffic Act, Section 170(12) to: "Park or stand a vehicle on a highway in such a manner as to interfere with the movement of traffic or the clearing of snow from the highway." Also, Section 181 states: "No person shall deposit snow or ice on a roadway without permission in writing to do so from the Ministry or the Road Authority responsible for the Maintenance of the Road" Parking is not permitted on any street or road within the Municipality of Huron East between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., from November 1 to April 15. Violators will be ticketed and may have their vehicles towed and impounded. Neither the Municipality of Huron East nor the "Snow Plow Operators" will be held responsible for damage done to vehicles or mailboxes on the Municipal Road Allowance. John Forrest, Huron East Public Works Coordinator Dr. Bill Milne joins clinic for the winter Susan Iiundertmark Dr. Bill Milne, who worked in Seaforth last winter, will be working again part-time at the Seaforth Medical Centre until spring. While he will not be rostering patients, Milne will be available at the clinic on Mondays and Tuesdays to see orphan patients. "He'll be here part-time again and while he's here, we'll try to convince him what a great community this is. We're happy to have him," says Ron Lavoie, chair of the Seaforth Community Hospital trust which manages the clinic. Lavoie says Milne has rented a house in Egmondville during the winter.
