Lawn Bowling Club members enjoy
evening at club social Sept. 27
The Seaforth Lawn
Bowling Club had 38 mem-
bers present for their last
club social Tuesday, Sept. 27
at 6 p.m.
Jack Muir welcomed all
present and George Ribey
offered the grace.
Following a bountiful sup-
per, five tables of euchre were
in play and three greens of
lawn bowlers bowled two
games.
Card winners were high
score, Bea Stoll and Jack
Muir; most lone hands, Betty
Hulley and Olive Papple; con-
solation prize, Isabelle Hunt
and Vi Glanville. Hosting for
the evening were Jack and
Marie Muir and Ariel Wood.
The wind-up jitney of the
club was held Saturday at
2:30 p.m.
Winners of the ladies' spi-
der was Joyce Matzold and
Marion Smith and the men's
spider was Keith Snell and
Jim Smith.

the fish fry at the Legion and
afterwards assembled again
at the clubhouse to welcome
Terry and Maureen Ford who
for the past several years
have donated a plaque and
monetary gift to the most
improved new bowler of the
year.
This year's recipient was
Jim Smith who expressed his
gratitude to Terry and the
club on winning this award
which Terry presents each
year in memory of his late
parents Len and Janet Ford.
Past President Neil
Beuerman gave a summary o
f the year's activities and
thanked President Rick Wood
and executive for jobs well
done.
A plaque was presented
this year to the club by
Dennis Schmidt, treasurer of
O.L.B.A. for 75 years in the
same location.
The club was most grateful
to the Trillium Grant and
Huron East Seaforth
Community Development
Trust for their assistance in
helping the club to purchase
new equipment needed to
maintain the Seaforth
Greens.
The Club welcomed 13 new
members this year, presented
commemorative coin sets to
Maureen Thompson and
Carol Carter of Seaforth for
winning the gold medal in the
national women's competi-
tion, saw Rick Wood, Keith
Snell and Brad Claus win sil-
ver in men's novice trebles.
All in all, 2005 has been a
good year and Jack and
Marie Muir won third prize
at St. Marys, Saturday win-
ning a turkey each.
