Call Susan or Jason at 527-0240 Mites win Tri -County tournament Seaforth's senior Mites baseball team continued their winning streak by winning the final Tri - County tournament undefeated this weekend in Londesboro. The senior Mites won their first game against Holmesville 25-11, their second game against Londesboro 26-4 and their final game against Benmiller 36-4 to win the A championship. "The kids were just hounding at the end. Only five kids had played ball before this year and they did great. All the players had outstanding hitting and defense. And, they were all good sports." said coach Bonnie Clark. Six players on the senior Mites team hit home runs during the year-end tournament including Dustin Clark, 5. Dylan Barker and Riley Ward, 4 75 th anniversary tournament held on Wednesday morning The Seaforth Lawn Bowling greens saw much activity this weekend when on Friday evening it was Legion Fun Night. There was a good turnout of bowlers under Tom Phillips's guidance and winners were ladies: first, Gwen Harburn; second, Nellie Barry; honourable mention, Vickie Doig and mens: first, Cliff Waddington; second, Larry Broome and honourable mention, Tom Phillips. Afterwards, a challenge match between Doug Smale and Dave Watson against Mike Smale and Brian Melady resulted in Mike and Brian winning 13-3 after five ends (which included a six - ender) Mike and Brian took midway through the game. The evening ended with sausage on a bun, corn on the cob and perfect weather. Saturday evening saw Tom again hosting at the greens for a group from Festival Hydro. Again everyone seemed to enjoy themselves immensely and as a spectator, there were some very good ends of lawn howling. In out-of-town tournaments last Tuesday at St. Marys Jack Muir and Chuck Laughton won fourth prize in mens' pairs. On Saturday at Clinton mixed pairs, Jack and Maric Muir won second place. Saturday. Aug. 15, two teams were at Mitchell bowling in the Wm. Ducklow Memorial Tournament with Rick Wood and Jcan Shillington winning second prize , just one point shy of the leaders. Consolation prize went to Jack and Marie Muir.
