Huron Expositor, 2004-07-14, Page 9THI HURON EXPOSITOR, , ConSrafl41ations, Class of 2004 Goob ct dears for HC By Brittany Lyon Teachers, parents and fellow graduates, we are all here to celebrate with the people who have helped us make it through the good yet challenging years. It may be your grandparents, parents or siblings, but in this room there are mostly your friends. Friends who have shared happy times, sad times and funny times with you. 1 have been at Huron Centennial since Junior Kindergarten with Mrs.Gemmell. Over the past 10 years I have realized that every one of us has a certain quality about us, and I think that we have found that quality just this year. We have a big impact on each other and each others lives. I can still remember when in Grade 4 1 chose Bryce for the most likely to be a space commander because he was so goofy. We all have had a good time at Huron Centennial and it's both sad and exciting to be leaving here. Therefore, 1 would like to give a very special thank you to all of the teachers who have helped us make it here tonight. There's way too many to name them all, but they were the ones that taught us we can do anything we put our minds to. They really' deserve a lot of credit. After all they put up with us for 10 years. Also a very special thank you to Mrs. Gill , Mrs. Shore and Mrs. ,Allan for always guiding us and supporting us in the right way. Thanks to all of our bus drivers who put up with all us loud kids. Boy, I bet they're ready for a break. But we can't forget to give Margaret and Murray a very special thanks as well, because they were the ones that kept our school clean and safe. They were just like our best friends. 1 can still remember the daywhen Josh and Kyle 0, helped wash the windows. You two would make tine window cleaners. But there will be friendships that stay the same and friendships that go, but I know that we will never forget our past friends. A lot of friendships will be drifting apart in high school, college, or university, but no natter where we are, I know we will still give a little wave to each other as we pass in the hallways. Have you ever heard the saying 'Crayons are diverse, but they all live in the same box?' Well 1 love that saying and 1 think that it's a very important one to remember. Because we all have very special things about us, and we all are extraordinary people. I would like to recite a poem for you called: Someday Someday, they'll be a famous pianist or a high school science teacher. They'll settle down, marry, have a couple of kids. Maybe they won't. Someday, they'll help millions of people all over the world. Or maybe they'll travel, send letters from Africa or phone you from Rome. Someday, they'll be a strong, confident man or woman, But you'll always remember the first time you held thein in your anns. Someday, they'll have their own hopes and dreams, not knowing that once upon a quiet time, you closed your eyes and dreamed to have them in your life. So here's to all my fellow graduates. Tonight may bring tears to our eyes because next year, we probably won't be in our same little groups. Please remember the tears of joy that tonight brings to you, and let's celebrate a memory of which we can look back upon. Our hard work is now behind us, and we should feel great and be happy, because graduation is our reward: As we grow older and go our own ways, we will always have dreams and 1 know that if we work hard, we can do anything we wish to. Whether it will be J.J. being a farmer and still living in Good 01' Huron County, or Kimberly growing up to be the next Prime Mistress of Canada. Some of these dreams may actually come true, and when these people are on TV we will say "Would you look at that, I went to school with that person!" If it's Alissa on the other hand we can say, "I saw her underwear at the beach!" Friends change people change, but the one thing 1 hope never changes is the love and respect we have for each other, in this graduating class of 2004. I wish all of you the best of luck in all that the future holds for you. I know we will always remember this night, this bitter-sweet occasion when all we can do now is look forward. Because we only live once. trig anb sniall thsies recaJleb St Coluniban wJebictorlans By Brendan Ryan and Laura Dekroon B: Good evening. My name is Brendan Ryan, L: And I'm Laura Dekroon.
