Seaforth holds Ontario Association
of Agricultural Societies meeting
District 8 of the Ontario
Association of Agricultural
Societies met at the Seaforth
Agriplex, hosted by the
Seaforth Agricultural Society,
on Oct. 28,for their annual
meeting and to celebrate 50
years as a district.
In 1953 the districts in the
Ontario Association were
realigned with Huron and
Perth Counties becoming
District 8.
An anniversary cake was cut
by former directors of the
district including Bi11
Wessman who served
Milverton Fair from 1976-78
and Jean Reaney, who served
Mitchell Fair from 1975-76
and as OAAS Homecraft
President in 1979.
Cake and ice cream were
served by the district director
Alfred Young and homecraft
director Betty Jermyn,
assisted by incoming
homecraft director Robina
Alexander.
Pre -dinner entertainment
was provided by Marie Flynn
and the Huron Strings and
post -dinner entertainment was
provided by a Seaforth
barbershop quartet.
During the business
meeting, greetings were
brought by the Warden of
Huron County, Dave Urlin,
Deputy Mayor of Huron East,
Bernie MacLellan, President
Ontario Association of
