Clothing company
set up at Queensway
Geri Fashions Clothing
Company set up shop at
Queensway Friday from 2 to 7
p.m. Many residents, family
members and a number of staff
took time to browse and buy
throughout the afternoon and
evening.
Tuesday morning, a group of
eight residents gathered to dine
family style on their menu of
fried sausage, pancakes and
syrup, eggs cooked to order,
toast, fruit and lots of steaming
hot coffee or tea.
Residents decided the menu
and dictate over easy, poached,
or fried or scrambled eggs
while they watch. There's
visiting, reminiscing and
discussion of current events
over the leisurely meal.
Les Hills, of Hensall United
Church, led a very meaningful
memorial service Tuesday
afternoon for those residents
who have passed away
recently. Volunteer Belva Fuss
played piano for the hymns
chosen by residents.
Fun and fitness started the
day Wednesday morning, as it
does three times weekly.
Everyone works through the
prescribed routine of
movements designed to
maintain flexibility, and then
quiz and word games are
played to stimulate brain
function. The group's motto is
you either use or lose it.
Father Francis of St.
Boniface Church was in for
Catholic residents on Thursday
morning.
Coffee and current events
also took place in the morning
as the weekly and daily
newspapers were read and
discussed over coffee, tea and
cookies.
In the afternoon, art group
met and participants either
drew or practiced their
penmanship.
Friday evening, the
Retirement Home lounge was
filled to capacity for a lovely
evening of piano music and
singing with Marie Flynn.
