Cemetery Sunday attracts
large crowd in St. Columban
The weather
was beautiful
as a large
crowd of local
St. Columban
people and visitors gathered Sunday, Sept.
2 in the St. Columban Cemetery in a
celebration of resurrection, a tradition
becoming known as Cemetery
Sunday.
The music for the service was
provided by Tom and Devon.Burke
and the St. Columban choir. The
sound system was provided by
Larry Kelly. Ann Cronin welcomed
everyone and Rita Moylan
presented the scripture readings.
At the end of the service, Ken
Coyne and Neil Murray made
presentations to Ray Maloney and
Luella Murphy in recognition of
their many years of service to the
parish and community in their work
for the St. Columban Cemetery Board.
Sister Margaret Rose Eckert celebrated

Ursuline Sisters in their houses in Tilbury;
at Brescia College, London; in Stratford,
Essex, and "The Pines" in Chatham. Sister
Margaret Rose presently lives in Strathroy
and although retired, she serves the
community there by visiting the hospitals

Seaforth to surprise Ferg and celebrate his

supper.

travelled to Winnipeg where they
visited their son, Joe and Paula
Ryan, Brent, Megan and Erin.
