Fitness is Fun classes
begin Sept. ii at arena
The annual Terry Fox Run will be
held on Sunday, Sept. 16.
Seaforth's run will begin at the
Seaforth and District Community
Centres between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
All participants are asked to register
and begin the event before 1:30 pm.
Last year Seaforth and area
residents raised over $5,200 which was our
best year since 1982. All proceeds from the
Terry Fox Run will go towards cancer
research and to date close to $300 million has
been raised worldwide.
Pledge sheets will be available throughout
town, pick one iip, collect some pledges and
we will see you on Sept. 16.
Fitness is Fun
Fitness is Fun with Drusilla Leitch will be
held Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9
to 10 a.m. beginning Sept. 11. Come enjoy
this 10 -week program for only $40 for once
per week or $70 for two times per week.
Drusilla will give you a great workout
using weights and steps.

Senior Shuffleboard
Senior Shuffleboard will resume today at
the community centres. Shuffleboard is held
every Wednesday from 1:30 to 4 p.m.

Volunteer Huron
Volunteer Huron would like to invite
everyone to a series of workshops.
The first workshop will be held at the
Knights of Columbus Hall in Goderich
beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
The second workshop will be held on
Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at the North
Huron Community Complex in Wingham.
The guest speaker for these workshops
will be Ted Johns, from the Blyth Theatre,
who will perform a fun and inspirational play
on volunteering in Huron County.
The final workshop will be held on
Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. at the South
Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter. The guest
speaker will be John Davidson from Jesse's
Journey.
All workshop are free, and door prizes will
be awarded. For more information contact
Volunteer Huron at 482-8777.

teams in play on
Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club
Wednesday, Aug. 22 in a
double draw. 23rd
Anniversary Art Finlayson
Tournament.
Draw Master Fred Tilley
welcomed everyone and
Mary Finlayson spoke a few
words on behalf of the
Finlayson family. One
minute's silence was
observed in memory of
Thelma Coombs.
Teams were present from
24 clubs including
Collingwood, Owen Sound,
Port Elgin, Kitchener,
Minora, London, Burlington,
Sarnia and one entry from
Florida.
First prize, donated by the
Finlayson family in Art's
memory went to Lionel and
Wilma Young of
Southhampton. Second went
to Seaforth's Lee Ryan and
Carol Carter.
High two -game winners
were Ed and Edna
Braithwaite of Sarnia. There
were prizes for every team
entered and many favourable
comments were given by

heavy rainfall on Sunday
afternoon flooding the

Saturday evening, Aug. 18
saw the greens being used by
Festival Hydro employees in
a social evening hosted by
Tom Phillips. Saturday
evening, Aug. 25 saw the
Seaforth firemen and their
wives lawn
bowling at the
greens with Tom
Phillips again
assisting.

London last Thursday Fred
and Betty Tilley won third
prize while at Brussels Lee
Ryan and Carol Carter won
second prize and Jack and•
Marie Muir placed fourth.
Two teams were in
Stratford on Sunday and
coming up on Friday several
teams are entered in Optional
Pairs in Southhampton.
Kyle -Cooper shoot held
at Kippen Gun Club
.On Sunday, Aug. 26, the 24th Kyle -Cooper shoot was
held at the Kippen Gun Club. Thirty shooters were on hand
for this 100 target event.
To determine the classes the second and third trap scores
were drawn out of a hat. 40-57 "A", 46-43 "B", 42-39 "C",
under 39 "D", also veterans 60 years and over and junior
under 18 years.
