C�11dpaS Plevls a Country living Channel hannel 11:1,, \\,;11111 (1nt 1U Correspondents Farm machinery parade to be held a second year The Sawmill Road farmers are busy decorating St. Columban their farm machinery for Christmas and are planning a parade to display this seasonal finery. The Christmas Parade of Decorated Farm Machinery will take place on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 5 p.m. sharp. The rain date is Sunday, Dec. 9. The parade will depart from the farm of Gord and Irma Pryce on Sawmill Road, travelling east on Sawmill Road until Beechwood Line; turning north on Beechwood Line until the Hullett-McKillop Road; turning west on Hullett-McKillop Road until Hensall Line; turning south on Hensall Line until reaching Sawmill Road. The parade will then turn east on Sawmill Road finishing up at the farm of Gordon and Irma Pryce. Everyone is welcome to support this unique effort by coming out to watch the parade at any point along the route. The students at St. Columban School participated in a "Sub Day," this past week. It was a change from having a hot dog or pizza day. As the report cards have gone home, and parent interviews are over, the students are now looking forward to Christmas. A "Book Fair" complete with posters, pencils and bookmarks, has been held in the library, allowing the students a chance to browse through their favourite authors and purchase the books they enjoy the best. Gerry and Karen Ryan and Dale and Susan Cronin enjoyed an evening of exhilarating music and dance as they attended the recent "Leahy" concert held in Stratford. This excellent group, a family from Lakefield, held the audience spellbound with their Celtic style and superb musical ability. The family of John and Agnes Walsh gathered at the home of Ron and Mary Ryan to celebrate their annual Walsh family Christmas. By M Ry 345 - ary C. an 2560 eelt Dublin loses Mamie Delaney Dublin and surrounding area has been deeply saddened by the death of Mary Ellen (Mamie) Delaney (Murray) of Dublin on Nov. 24. Mamie had been very active in the Catholic Women's League and other church activities, and community affairs. Mass of the Resurrection was held at St. Patrick's Church, Dublin, on Nov. 28. The church was filled to capacity by family, in-laws, relatives, neighbours and close friends. It was a touching time to see all Mamie's family taking part. It was wonderful hearing a granddaughter, Jennifer Seiler giving the eulogy which brought laughs and tears to the people. Residents enjoy wine and cheese Dublin On Nov. 23, a Dublin Post Office Customer Appreciation Day was held. Scott and Niki Saunders welcome a new baby boy, Darcey James Saunders was born on Nov. 19, weighing 6 lbs. 15 oz. This is a great community project and we look forward to continuing it next year. Members from Legion Branch #156 conducted our Remembrance Day service this past month. Everyone really appreciates the time and effort that the Legion members take to visit with us at this busy time of year. We also enjoyed several events for our Tribute to Italy during November. Special meals, snacks and programs had everyone wishing we were really travelling to "Italia." Our wine and cheese party also featured many Italian wines. Residents enjoyed outings to Exeter for donuts as well as a trip to Starlight Lanes for an afternoon of bowling. We welcomed Rev. Sheila Macgregor, Rev. Nick Vandermey, Rev. Lance Magdziak and Bethel Bible Church who conducted our for us during November. Providing musical entertainment during November was The Zurich Connection, Carol Carter and Carol Lebeau and Bill Pepper. residents enjoyed the tiny tots from the Seaforth Nursing School who visit each month. to brighten everyone's day. Our bowling program with the Seaforth Public School students also provides a lively morning of interaction with the young folks. Breakfast club continues to be enjoyed as a small group of residents meet to enjoy made to order breakfast. Our massage therapist, Tanya Hallam visits each Thursday to do massages for our residents who look forward to this special program each week. As well, everyone enjoys visiting with Cindy Holland and her Boston Bulldog each Monday morning as part of the St. John's Ambulance Pet Therapy Program.
