St. Columban
residents fill church
for service marking
Mistie Murray's life
St. Columban
Many area residents filled
St. Joseph's Church in
Stratford for a Mass
celebrating the life of Nicole
Mistie Murray this
past Saturday.
Bishop John
Michael Sherlock
presided at the
celebration, assisted
by Father Tony
Daniels and Deacon
Mark Stagg.
Attending the
celebration were
Mistie's parents,
Anne and • Steve
Murray, her brothers,
her grandparents, as
well as many family
members, relatives,
neighbours and friends.
Many family friends
participated in the
celebration, providing the
music, presentations and
readings.
Mistie's brother, Dean
Murray, gave a brief
reflection about his sister.
While the celebration
reflected the Murray family's
desire to place themselves
and Mistie, in God's Hands,
they will never give up the
hope of finding their missing
daughter.
Mistie is missed by this
community and will always
be remembered. As her
brother, Dean, reflected,
"Wherever Mistie was, there
was fun."
The "Chefs" were at it
again as the parishioners of
St. Columban Parish enjoyed
a "Bacon on a Bun" social
fallowing Mass on Sunday
morning. It provided an
opportunity for fun, food and
fellowship, which was
enjoyed by all.
Best wishes from the entire
community are extended to
Matt and Martha Claessens,
who recently celebrated their
47th wedding
anniversary.
The students at St.
Columban School
held a Remembrance
Day Service in the
gym this past week.
Among the songs
sung by the school
choir were "Peace
Cannon" and "We
Are Canadians." The
Grade 4 class
performed "In
Flanders Fields."
Two members of the
Mitchell Legion gave a
presentation to the students,
telling what happened during
the war, and explaining what
Remembrance Day means to
them.
The students also had a
"Pop and Chip" day this past
week and are looking
forward to a "Pyjama Day"
this coming week.
Megan Elizabeth Price,
daughter of Steve and Teresa
Price, Mitchell was baptized
at St. Patrick's Church in
Dublin on Nov. 11.
Father Maurice
Charbonneau performed the
baptism. Those attending
were Charlie and Veronica
Price, Dwayne and Karen
Goforth, Stratford, Harry,
Marion, Ryan and Nancy
Underhill, Southampton,
Paul, Cheryl and Christopher
Ireland, Paisley, Grant and
Maureen Ross, London, Tom
and Jen Evans, New
Hamburg, and Chris, Jen and
Jaren Vogels, Mitchell.
