cuddle bears
The past week has been a
whirlwind of activity due to
the boundless- energy of the
"Summer Team 2001" an
interdenominational
leadership program that ran
a summer day camp for
Queensway seniors. Christie
Poelman, Stephanie
Bokhout, Gabe Mitchell,
Carly Muegge, Lindsay Hay
and Melissa Metcalfe
fished, danced, played
games, did crafts and skits,
led worship service and just
got to know many of the
residents.
Everyone benefitted from
an absolutely wonderful
week and we hope to see
the team again next year.
Musicians, John and
Geneva Heaman entertained
for a full4iouse on Sunday
afternoon at Queensway's
ice cream social. Many
family members and friends
joined us for. the wonderful
music and delicious
sundaes. Due to the hot,
humid weather the event
was held in the • air
conditioned comfort of the
activity and dining area.
Huron County Alzheimer
Society presented
Queensway with ten
beautiful Cuddle Bears on
Friday morning as part of
their Cuddle Bear program.
The bears are known to
have a calming influence on
residents suffering from
dementia. They are
handmade by many of the
society's volunteers.
