successful farmer entrepreneur, a
great golf partner, a friend to all who
knew him and a devoted family man.

CROWLEY, Donald: Mr. Donald
Francis Crowley, 69, a lifelong resi-
dent of Ellice Township died sudden-
ly surrounded by family and friends
at a family gathering on Sunday,
April 29, 2001. Born in Stratford, he
was a son of the late David Crowley
and the former Julia Jordan. Don
was a member of St. Patrick's
Roman Catholic Church, Kinkora,
the Knights of Columbus Kilroy
Council 1431. was a member of the
Perth County Pork Producers and
the Perth Federation of Agriculture.

He was a Past President of the St.
Patrick's Kinkora P.T.A. , served on
the Huron -Perth Separate School
Board and later on the Perth County
Board of Education. He was a char-
ter member and Past President of
the Ellice Optimist Club. After retiring
from farming, Don enjoyed wood-
working, curling, golfing, horseshoes
and was well known for his musical
talents which he loved to share with
the young and old. He is the beloved
husband of Donna (Connelly) whom
he married at St. Joseph's Church,
Sept. 15, 1956. Loving father of
David and wife Beatrice, Matthew
and wife Kelli, Therese and husband
Robert Brodhagen, Mary Kay and
husband Ron Whaling, Pauline and
husband Brad Linton. He will be
sadly missed by his grandchildren

Crowley, Con, Monica and Steven
Crowley, Katie, Don and Kendra
Brodhagen, Dyan, Kevin and Jason

A reception followed in
the St. Patrick's Parish Hall
where the candidates could
meet the Bishop and have
some pictures taken and
meet and visit with the
people of the community.
The ladies from St.
Columban are invited to the
"Spring Fling" being
sponsored by the St. James
Catholic Womens League.
The event includes a bake
table, entertainment, prizes,
dessert and tea. The "Spring
Fling" will take place at the
Seaforth Legion on May 9
at 7 p.m.
Mary Jane Coyne has
returned from a trip to Las
Vegas where her friend and
roommate from Brock
University, Jackie Olsen,
was married.
St. Columban School
student, Traci Ducharme,
has achieved several awards
for her science fair project,
"Fertilizer Solutions" at the
recent Huron Perth Regional
Inventors and Science Fair.
Traci placed third in the
Grade 8 Biological category,
and received the Perth
County Environmental
Stewardship Award as well
as the Aventis Crop Science
Canada Co Regional Award
for this project.
