It seems like yesterday, But 10 years have come and gone Since you lett us on our own. So many things have changed And yet some remain the same. I wish that you could see, How we have extended our family tree. Qur children have grown, With spouses and grandchildren you have never known. Life for us was on a farm With children and grandchildren in the barn. Combine and tractors in the field, Like you, always trying for a better yield. With your children to arenas and ball parks, you would go, But your grandchildren can never show. You still had so much to teach, But you were taken from our reach. The years we had with you are worth their weight in gold, The joy and laughter that you gave, are ours to have and hold. With memories in our hearts, you will walk with us forever. - Forever loved, your wife Rose 46- 18x1 PETHICK: In loving memory of our Grandpa George who left us so sud- denly one year ago, May 5, 2000. We miss the outings that we had together, The bad times and the good times. When we were small we always sat on your knee and you just had to tease us. But most of all, we miss you now. We will always love you, Grandpa. - Ricky, Andy, David, Eric, Spencer and Hailey 46-18x1 -16 HORAN: In memory of our father, Ray Horan, who passed away ten years ago, May 5, 1991. Dad, Ws hard to believe That ten years have come and gone. You lett us with no warning, And it seemed impossible to move on. But there were fields to be planted and animals to be feed, So we all struggled on hoping deep down that you would be pleased. It takes a lot of hard work and it sure would be nice, If you could come back just once, and give us your well -thought advice. We had to make some changes and it was anything but easy, Somehow we made decisions based on our own ideas and feelings. Dad, not one day goes by that we don't wish you were here, But we can definitely feel your spirit every time we look at the 1830 John Deere. - Sadly missed by Jennifer and Philip, Julie and Bill, Jason and Lorianne, and Jill and their families 46-18x1 PETHICK, George: In loving mem- ory of a good husband, father and grandfather who passed away one year ago, May 5, 2000. In a quiet graveyard where gentle breezes blow, Lies the one we loved so dearly. Your resting place we visit and put flowers there with care, But no one knows the heartache When we tum and leave you there. - Always in our thoughts and hearts, Grace, Ken and Val, Sharon and Steve and grandchildren. 46-18x1 47. Biologist talks about oil spills to Horticulture Society Hensall At Hensall Carmel Presbyterian Church Tracy Whitson-Bahro's message was "Believing Through Scars". Joyce Pepper was the organist. Harry Smith received the offering. The church school was looked after by Gloria Taylor. Tracy reported that the Kids Club held on Friday evening was enjoyed by everyone. The April Meeting of the Hensall and District Horticultural Society was held Wednesday evening at Hensall United Church. President Luanne Phair welcomed everyone and introduced the guest speaker, Tom Dunbar, a biologist from Goderich. Mr Dunbar is involved with oil -spill clean-up operations. The United States spends much more on this than does Canada. In the U.S. each bird etc. has a value and this amount must be paid by the responsible company if the bird or animal dies. The speaker is constantly on-call in case of a spill anywhere. Birds and other species were mentioned and a few hints were learned to help make ones property more appealing to them. Lunch followed thanks to Lucielle Beer, Luanne Phair, Betty Nuttall, Cheryl Bilcke, and Liz Sangster. The next meeting will be the plant auction on May 6 with Pirie Mitchell as the auctioneer. The SouthWcst GospelAires were in concert at Hensall United Church on Sunday evening. A large crowd attended this musical event. A guest quartet also contributed to thc concert.
