"We've just continued what we decided in April. which is to suspend things until we get to a situation where we have enough convenors and coaches." said Seaforth District High School coach Terry Johnston. "We are not cancelling anything because if something were to break in the next few weeks we would see what we could do to salvage the season." The Huron -Perth decision to suspend rather than cancel comes on the heels of action taken by the Thames Valley District School Board and the Bruce Athletic Association to cancel their respective seasons. - "it's hard to explain to kids, it's hard to explain to parents, - sometimes it's • hard to understand yourself." said HPAA executive director Bob Ellison. Prior to Monday's decision to suspend the season. Ellison said the HPAA would avoid'. cancelling the entire sports season meaning a glimmer of hope remains for local athletes. "The idea rs we're not cancelling the entire sports year but it's .liketwo years ago but in a worse way," said Ellison. "To be honest 1 can't see an end in sight."
