in a Goderich Street,.
Seaforth. apartment
parking lot during the
night on July 4. .

A 20 -year-old Norval
man and an 18 -year-old
from Brampton have
been charged with
possession of a
controlled 'substance
after being stopped in a

Driving Everywhere)
spot check for drunk
drivers on June 30.
The officer .stopping
the vehicle on Goderich
Street smelled the .odour
of suspected cannabis
coming from the.vchick
. and searched the
occupants. finding a
small quantity of
suspected marijuana.
Youth assaulted in
Hensen
A 19 -year-old
Goderich man was
arrested after a 13 -year-
old Hensen boy
reported an assault. on
June 27. •
• Sometime before 9:30
p.m. the boy had seen
two men inside a
vehicle in Hensalt who
seemed impaired. He
made comment to -them
about it ani the
passenger inside got out.
and -assaulted the youth:
Later. •a • citizen
reported -a possible
• impaired driver
. involving • the same
vehicle.
Officers located the
vehicle at a Zurich
residence and arrested a
--19-.year-old man.
Tree stolen
. A three-foot Linden
tree. newly planted. was
reported stolen from the
back yard of an Adam
Street: residence •.in.
Seaforth June 27 at
12:45 p.m.
Sometime during the
night the tree had been
taken from the yard and
neighbours and, the
owner looked for the
tree •bui could not find
it, reporting the theft to
the OPP.. • .

John Graham was

the truck, removing

15 feet onto a rock. He
crawled to the cab
where he was able to
call for assistance.
The Ministry of
Labour is investigating.
Town seeks help to find
a way to reduce flooding

While Seaforth. flooded
twice this summer. the
townwas spared this Sunday
.when as much as seven
inches of rain fell on
'neighbouring towns and
fields.
But the most recent
flooding. June 25. has
prompted Seaforth council to
set up a meeting with the
Ausauble Bayfield
Conservation Authority.
Public: ,works
• superintendent John Forrest
had recommended they seek
help from the authority at
council. June 13 meeting; in
response to concerns from
tie first flood. May 13 that
saw some basements with
four and five feet of water.
Most of the flooding this
Mire was measured in inches
but saw basements. just
repaired from the last flood:
damaged again. .
At the time. council wasn't
sure anything could be done
to stop the flooding since
much of it came from -runoff.
