Minutes of the May meeting were read by Betty Hulley. Quilt tickets were handed out. We will be selling tickets on the quilt at "Midnight Madness" in July. Treasurer's report was given by Helen MacKenzie. The District picnic is July 4 at Crediton, Seaforth is to bring dessert. The meeting was turned over to Helen MacKenzie. Jean Keys and Helen read "Molly's Grill:" • Jean Keys read "Farming is Like a Wheelbarrow. "What kind are you?" Local producers and entertainers taking part in Stratford -Perth Museum's agriculture event The Stratford -Perth Museum 'and the food. producers of Penh County are joining together to present a celebration of agriculture on July 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Twenty commodity groups will gather to provide samples for $.50 a serving. Included will be Quality Jersey Products of Seaforth who will be bringing their cheese for tasting. •The diversity of product and the quality of commodities will highlight what makes Huron and Perth Counties special. At this family event. there will he a special tent for children that will offer hands-on opportunities to experience making rope, grinding corn and other types of activities that reflect the historical elements 'of agriculture. Or hand will be Stratford Farm Equipment with modern farm equipment that will be juxtaposed with examples of the old farm machinery that are part of the Museum's collection. Entertainment will be provided by the Seaforth Harmony Kings. Lectures will occur all day. The following presentations will be made: Bill• Wallace, Principal in Quality Jersey Products, From Dairy farmer to Cheese Producer. The Business of Agriculture; Jackie Rowe, owner of.the Garlic Box, Garlic: What It Can Do For You; Antony John, owner of Soiled Reputations, Heritage Gardening; Ann Slater,owner of Slater's Organic Vegetables, To Everything There is a Season.
