Questions & Answers
about grief recovery*
Q. Why do some people seem to go through the grieving process
so quickly and easily and others are devastated for a very long
time?
A. The process of grieving is unique to each individual.
Considerable variation can be observed from one person to
another. Don't make the mistake of comparing one grief-stricken
individual with another, for their uniqueness is as distinct as their,
facial features or their fingerprints.

Huron Expositor is planning
a special project to take a
ditterent look at this
community.
We want to give you a
look at the community that
leaves the issues behind and
shows Seaforth and the
surrounding area just as it is
on one, typical, regular, plain
old ordinary day.
We want to bring you "A
Day in the Life of Seaforth,"
a pictorial view of life in this
community.
Thenewspaper
traditionally documents the
changes in our community.
We want to capture some of
the regular moments of life
in this area, documenting
what it was like living here
at the end of this century. as a
record for those who go on
to become the newsmakers
of the next.
Today. Dec. 8, we will take
to the streets from sunrise to
sunset in an attempt to
capture images that show
nothing less than the people
who make up ' this
community.
For one day, the issues and
newsmakers will be put on
hold. Instead, we will use
that day to show you some of
the regular people whose
daily routines make up the
true fabric of this
community.
For one day, the regular
citizens of this area will
become the newsmakers,
helping document what life
was like in the last month of
the 20th century.
No matter what the issues

in the years to come these,
special pages, appearing in'
the first issue of 2000 will
help bring back,to life a few
of the simpler moments of

Signs
for911
must be ,
installed
this week
By Amy Zoethout
Goderich Signal -Star Staff
In order to meet the
September. 2000 date for
the implementation of 911
in Huron County. all rural
road signs and' property
numbers must be installed
by Dec. 10.
This month. the county
will be sending letters to
rural property owners to
confirm their new
address. Bell Canada and
the independent telephone
companies will also be
contacting property
owners to ensure they
have the correct addresses
for emergency purposes.
"In order 16 do that, the
signs have to be up." said
Sandra Lawson, county
engineer at Thursday's
county council meeting.
In a letter to the rural
municipalities,' Lawson
said that Bell has
indicated that any
slippage in this
implementation schedule
will likely result in not
having 911 in Huron for
2000 . and could be
'delayed for a least
another year. -
"We must all work
together to get 911 up and
running by September
2000," said Lawson.
All roads have been
named and numbered. but
a number of rural
municipalities. expressed
concern about having the
signs up on time.
Lawson noted that if the
hamlets need help getting
the signs up by the Dec.
10 deadline they can ask
the county for help. She
added that the Highway
Department is
"diligently" working on
getting the signs done and
is available to help.
"This has been given
top priority," she said.
